The name of the lingua franca you refer to is Sranan. The official spelling of this language was laid down in a Government Regulation in 1986. The official spelling of Sarnami was also laid down by government regulation, and calling it Caribbean Hindustani should only be considered as a descriptive term, but most definitely not as the official name of this language. All academic and other publications on this language refer to it as Sarnami.
