The consumption of tourists is excluded for countries with more tourists per year than resident population.

“Unrecorded alcohol” is not taxed and is outside of governmental control. It includes alcohol that is homemade (legally or illegally), smuggled or obtained through cross-border shopping. Other countries are operated by separate corporations such as the Americana Group, which controls KFC franchises in nearly all Middle Eastern countries.
- Happy Planet Index: The Happy Planet Index (HPI) is calculated from three components: Perceived well-being, life expectancy and ecological footprint. A higher value indicates a happier population.
